Jan Janszn. Weltevree Foundation intends to pay particular attention to information regarding Korea at primary and secondary schools. At De Rijp there is a hand out that can be used in elementary schools.
Visit by students of the Korean school
Saturday, May 20, 2017, 60 students and 10 teachers of the Korean school at Amstelveen visited our village. They were picked up by a coach of Hotel De Rijper Eilanden and were welcomed by our village crier Jan Geert the First with his specially arranged "cry".
Schoolprojects
During the school year 2014-2015, the Vinckhuysen school at West-Graftdijk has had a Korea project, in which all groups participated. Thursday March 19th 2015, the project was rounded off with performances and activities connected to everything that had been done and learned. The day was attended by Ambassador Jonghyun Choi, Mayor Piet Bruinooge and Alderman Elly Konijn of the municipality of Alkmaar.
Plans are under discussion to organize the same project during a future school year at the Bredeschool De Balein and De Pauw. Hopefully the rounding off of this one will coincide with an exhibition in the museum.
School Directors visit Korea
In 2014, the directors of primary schools in Graft-De Rijp went to Korea, and they visited a number of schools, among other places. In 2015, the same kind of visit took place by the director and two Fortes Lyceum teachers in Gorinchem, together with the chairman of the Jan Janszn. Weltevree Foundation and some directors of the Horst Dynamics Scholengroep. The last group in particular plan to realize exchang programmes for pupils.
